Before I tell you how I started coaching and about the cool people I’ve trained I’m going to give you some insight into who I am.
I’m just a regular guy from Newfoundland really. I grew up outside and loved to play sports, especially hockey. I love to compete. I grew up at the rink and always looked forward to the end of summer to get back on the ice. I ended up playing competitive Junior A hockey in the MHL after high school. I made some of my favourite memories and learned some of my hardest lessons, with people I won’t soon forget.
Life after competitive hockey was challenging but it presented itself with a lot of opportunity. I decided to go to school at Dalhousie University in Halifax where I completed my Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. During my final semester in 2021, I completed my first Strength & Conditioning internship at the Canadian Sports Institute Atlantic and became a Certified Strength & Conditioning coach through the NSCA.
That Strength and Conditioning internship really solidified my passion for exercise and maximizing human performance (shoutout Scott & Travis!). I decided to learn everything I could to help people feel their best and perform their best at anything and everything.
To gain experience in the field, I moved to the West Coast of Canada and trained a variety of populations which include: Professional and Collegiate athletes (NHL, AHL, BCHL, U Sports, NCAA D1); High School athletes; wheelchair & Paralympic athletes; youth sports groups; seniors requiring exercise-based interventions; and your everyday person looking to improve their fitness.
I have coached athletes in team-based and individual sports including Hockey; Soccer; Volleyball; Baseball; Basketball; Lacrosse; BMX; Motorcross; Swimming; Kickboxing; Ballet; Rock climbing; Marathon and Ultra-Marathon running.
As a Registered Kinesiologist I am dedicated to the science of human movement and injury prevention. With years of experience and a deep understanding of the body's mechanics, I offer a unique perspective on achieving optimal physical health. Together, we can unlock your body's potential, minimize your risk of injury, and pave the way for a healthier, more active life.
